Our fears, anxieties, phobias, etc. are deeply rooted in the subconscious mind and no amount of positive affirmation effectively removes them.  This is because the work of the will comes from the conscious level of the mind but it does not reach the programming level of the sub-conscious mind.  The subconscious mind  records all information coming through thoughts, experiences and emotions and then embeds it into the programming level.  Once there, it requires hypnosis to activate the imagination state in order to re-program for lasting changes to take place.

What is Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a natural, deep and relaxed state of mind, in which one has good communication with the subconscious mind.

The process of hypnotherapy is a healing art several thousand years old. The therapist guides the patient to a state of communication with the subconscious, and gives specific therapeutic suggestions specific to that patient’s requirement.
The subconscious mind is that part of one’s mind which regulates the entire system of the body, faithfully recording what you have done, felt and experienced from birth.
It obeys your commands. What has fallen into the subconscious mind will, in time, come to the conscious level.
For example, suggesting to the subconscious, “I am always calm and relaxed,” will register there. And when a person encounters a stressful situation (for example, at work), this suggestion rises to the conscious level. The person remains calm and relaxed amid the stress, so preventing the stress reactions which is very harmful for the body and mind.
Some people mistakenly assume that hypnosis is an unconscious state, similar to sleep. This is untrue.

In hypnosis, one is always aware and conscious; one will hear – and remember— everything the hypnotherapist says and does.
We all experience hypnosis in daily life, though unaware of this.

Working with Melanie is always a pleasure.  When I started the hypnotherapy with Melanie, I was not sure what to expect but she explained it all to me in a way I could understand and made me feel comfortable right away.  I noticed small changes immediately after my first appointment.  As the sessions progressed, I had huge improvements with my anxiety, and in my relationship with myself and others.  I have been working on some of these things for years now so I was so amazed and grateful that after 5 sessions of hypnotherapy, I was able to make such huge changes in my life.

Q: Will I lose control over my body?  
A:  When Hypnotized, you will do nothing against your will. You remain in control.

Q: What if there is a suggestion that I don't agree with or is against my beliefs?
A:  Anything suggested which goes against your basic moral beliefs or values, you will  simply reject.

Q: Will I remember the session?

 A:  After hypnosis, you will remember what has been said and done.

Q:  I'm not sure if it will work for me

A:  Anyone can be hypnotized if they wish so.  The process works for everyone. Desire is the only requirement.


Q: How many sessions do I need?

 A:  There are 5 foundational sessions- each session builds on the next.

Ideally the foundational sessions are to be scheduled close together with follow up sessions one week apart.  Follow up sessions are determined between practitioner and client.


Q: Do I need to come into the clinic for my sessions?  

A: Melanie provides remote sessions for her clients that live at a distance or for those who desire to remain in the comfort of their own home.  When working with children, sessions are facilitated in clinic with parents present.

Q: Will the session(s) be as effective when facilitated remotely?

 A:  The same positive result is achieved whether in clinic or remote. 

Melanie works with clients at a distance  with wonderful success using Skype or other video chat methods.
